My son just got engaged and we are already talking about planning for the wedding. They have decided to do a very small ceremony and liked the idea of everyone pitching in instead to send them somewhere special. Both would love to go to Japan.
Aside from the passport and airfare, can anyone provide tips or where to find good info on staying and traveling in Japan on a budget. Obviously they want to see Tokyo, which I do know can be very expensive, but they also don't care too much for the touristy stuff and would love to see the secret, special spots that are overlooked. My guess would be for seven days and probably around September/October next year.
I appreciate any help on finding information just to see if this is doable and to get the ball rolling.
