Slovenia/Croatia(Istria) 7 day trip itinerary help.

Hello. So I'm looking for advice on an itinerary that might not be the most forward. I'm flying to Budapest in a couple of weeks and have 7 days (6 full days). I've been to Budapest so I wanted to do a road trip with a focus on nature mostly. So I though I would go to Slovenia/Croatia (Istria).

Rough plan is as follows:

Day 1- Land in Budapest, sleep.

Day 2- Drive to Opatija, spend the day there.

Day 3,4 - Day trips to Rrovinj/Pula/Postojna.

Day 5 - Go to Ljubljana, and end the day somewhere between Ljubljana and Bled (?Kranj)

Day 6 - Lake bled and area.

Day 7 - Drive from Kranj to Siófok.

Day 8 - Siófok to Budapest airport.

Do you think this itinerary is a bit messy? Because it seems like it to me, so I'm open for any suggestions to simplify it. What areas should we base in? Do you think staying at a single central place would help?

Final thing, do you think Slovakia/Poland would be a better choice considering I'm landing in Budapest?
