Is it strange to feel sad before going on vacation?

So many people feel sad when having to return from vacation, but I have the opposite issue right now. I'm basically on the cusp of starting my vacation, will be travelling a good distance. Yet all I can think about is how much I'll miss my pets (they're boarding with some family), and the comfort of my home. I should be stoked about travelling! This trip has been years in the making!

For some reason I sort of just feel sad, want my pets back and in my arms, while just chilling at my house instead.
