My male cat attacks the female for no reason

In my house we have 2 cats, one male and one female, both came from the street on their own and the 2 got along normally, they even have 2 babies.

but suddenly yesterday morning the male started fighting and biting the female and they were at it until the night he even ignored the food I gave him

With us he is not aggressive, he is just with her. What is happening to him?
