Joel and Rachel Fishbein, Philadelphia residents, when they first got married, they took Montana, their yellow lab everywhere with them, even on holidays. In 1993, traveling with pets wasn’t easy as there was no handy guide to pet-friendly campsites. At present, there’s a dedicated app for that.


The Park Finder, formed by the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, can search 6,503 local and state parks in Pennsylvania in terms of facilities and location in seconds. One of the amenities that one can search for is pet-friendly campsites.
They still spend a ton of time outdoors and travel with their dogs and their grown-up children sometimes, says Joel Fishbein. They love outdoor yoga, pickleball, horseback riding, biking and hiking. The ParkFinder makes it relaxed to search for the ideal place for whatever they’re interested to do outside and can help them find it close to an exciting destination that they want to discover.

People crowed in their local parks as a way of getting exercise during covid, managing their boredom and fighting isolation, with the usage of local trail increasing sometimes by 200% per month. PRPS is inspiring people to maintain that good habit and go out and explore.
