Should I buy a 30L or 40L bag for my trip? I’m going for a month

I’ll be travelling to Asia for about a month and I know I’m gonna need a bag. I’m debating between a 30L and 40L but unsure of what size and brand to buy at this moment. Besides this, should I also carry a regular sized bag pack with me? Thanks for the tips guys
